Burglary

In Oklahoma, anyone who enters another person’s home without permission while the individual is home, with the intent to commit a crime, can be charged with burglary in the first degree.

A person may be charged with second-degree burglary if they break into any structure or vessel containing another person’s property. This includes breaking into machines such as vending machines. Additionally, anyone who intends to commit burglary can be charged and convicted of second-degree burglary.

If you are convicted of burglary, your sentence will depend on the severity of the crime for which you’ve been convicted. You may receive two to seven years in prison for second-degree burglary, while first-degree burglary may land you in prison for up to 20 years.
