A McCloud man has been arrested for his role in a drunk driving accident that killed one teen and paralyzed another one.
After a year-long investigation, John Michael Halford, Jr. was arrested Wednesday in connection with the accident. According to officials, Halford provided alcohol to the underage driver in the crash, Tory Dunn.
Dunn, who was 18 at the time of the accident, crashed the truck he was driving after drinking from a bottle of sweet tea vodka. He was charged with first-degree manslaughter and cause of great bodily harm while driving under the influence.
He pleaded guilty to two counts, including manslaughter and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reportedly served the warrant for second-degree murder and for knowingly delivering alcoholic beverage to persons under 21 years of age to the volunteer firefighter Wednesday, but no formal charges have been filed.
Six people were in the truck at the time of the accident, which occurred in January 2010.
