A Seminole couple was charged this week with neglect in the 2008 death of their 3-month-old daughter.
According to court documents, 29-year-old Samuel Wheeler Jr. and 22-year-old Crystal Lynn Erb are charged with their daughter’s death in 2008. After the baby died, officials found unused WIC (Women, Infant and Children) milk vouchers inside their house and said the baby, Tamberlyn Wheeler, weighed less at her death than she did when she was born premature.
Erb is scheduled to go to trial October 24. A preliminary hearing for Samuel Wheeler is set for Wednesday.
At the time, a second child who was diagnosed as failure to thrive was found in the house. The couple’s parental rights were terminated in October 2009 for that child and in December 2009 for a third child.
